It occurred to me yesterday that the whole idea of “tips” is a bit lopsided. If someone does a great job, we give them a hefty tip; if they do a terrible job, we give them no tip. In other words, the worst thing we can do to someone who provides a bad level of service is to not give them extra money.

Nikon has released firmware version 1.01 for its D5300 and D5500 cameras. Both updates add support for the AF-P DX NIKKOR 1855mm F3.55.6G VR and AF-P DX NIKKOR 1855mm F3.55.6G lenses, Nikon's first DX lenses to offer stepping motors, as well as an a5 Manual focus ring in AF mode option for the D5500. Both updates also bring several bug fixes correcting issues affecting each model, such as camera freezing.
