TinyMOS, a startup formed by National University of Singapore students, has introduced its Tiny1, a camera designed for astrophotography. The camera was introduced earlier this month at TechCrunch Disrupt 2015, and claims to be the first-ever portable consumer-level astronomy camera. Read more

The Jefferson Grid is a new Instagram account that’s attracting quite a bit of attention. Each photo posted is a satellite photo of some place in the United States that was discovered using Google Earth. Each photo also shows the area of exactly one square mile.

During the MLB baseball game yesterday between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies, a cameraman spotted a group of sorority girls who were apparently more interested in snapping the perfect selfie than watching the game. The announcers for the TV broadcast took notice, and the whole thing turned into a strange case study of what Instagram has done to our culture.
