Club meetings and competitions
The full club meets twice monthly mostly on the
first and third Tuesdays [see Program]. These meetings commence
at 8.00pm.
Monthly competitions are held separately for
colour prints, monochrome prints and digitally projected images,
entries being due on each first Tuesday. The competitions may
be for Open or Set subjects [see the current Program]. There are
two divisions, Large Prints for our "A" grade photographers
and, Small Prints for our members of lesser experience. Note:
Details of the entry requirements for Prints and digital images
can be found on the "Downloads" tab. On the third Tuesday
an independent judge comments on each entry and announces prize
winners for the month. Annual trophies are given for the best
images and also for the year's winning aggregates.
Competitions
The club is a keen entrant in Inter-club Competitions
with Essendon, Doncaster and Berwick clubs and at the VAPS convention,
when all Victorian clubs enter.
Presentations and Demonstrations
These are given on the first Tuesday of each
month by a guest or a member on photography or a related subject.
Workshops
Workshops are held for both members and non-members
such as learning about cameras, exposure, composition, lighting,
portraiture and dark room developing and printing.
From March to November the "Skills Development
Group" meets for workshops and presentations on photography
and digital image management techniques. These nights assume minimal
knowledge of the topic being presented and all members are welcome
at these sessions which commence at 7.45pm on the second Tuesday
of the month. For details of the program for the year see the
Monthly Program tab.
The club also runs a yearly camera courses
These courses are open to club members and the surrounding community.
Costs are very reasonable and details can be found under the "news" tab.
Outings
Photographic outings, picnics, and dinners
are held regularly and are good way for members to get to know
each other better and to improve their photography.
